The best move so far in the NFL offseason is the one that hasn't officially happened yet. Aaron Rodgers confirmed he intends to play quarterback for the Jets. It's a just matter of time before they and the Packers agree upon and complete a trade.No matter the compensation, the Jets had every reason to go all in with a strong young team that was just a four-time NFL MVP QB away from going from fringe AFC wild-card hopefuls to legitimate AFC title contenders. New York was the best place for Rodgers to continue to play outside of Green Bay.Rodgers coming to the AFC East also should make the 2022 wild-card Dolphins and three-time reigning division champion Bills be nervous, given those teams aren't  Nathan Noel Jersey positioned well to get better. Back on the positive side, teams such as the Bears, Raiders and Falcons had good money available and all spent well to improve their rosters.Here Sporting News' ratings for the most notable teams either doing well or poorly in the early offseason with the NFL free agency and trading period officially beginning:NFL FREE AGENCY 2023:Winners: Aaron Rodgers and the JetsRodgers needed a Tom Brady-like change of scenery to leave his long-time first NFL team. The Jets are hoping to be the new recent Buccaneers and be in the mix to win Super Bowls in the short term. The marriage after Rodgers' comments Wednesday.Rodgers operated more like a lame-duck QB with the Packers than a reigning two-time MVP last season. At 39, he can regain that Hall of Fame form with a strong young offensive cast, buoyed also a youth-laced rising dominant defense.Rodgers would reunite with Nathaniel Hackett in a system he knows well. He should get a healthier offensive line to support his efforts with wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore and Allen Lazard, a target he knows well from Green Bay The Jets will hope Breece Hall comes back healthy as an explosive backfield threat. Rodgers also benefits from two reliable tight ends in Tyler Conklin and C.J. Uzomah.Brett Favre after the Packers, with mediocre results in 2008 before returning to the NFC to make the Vikings top contenders. This won't be that or Ru sell Wilson with Hackett in Denver. This has all the makings of Brady in Tampa deja vu, given the new strength of the Jets organization setting up Rodgers and the team for big things.Winners: Chicago BearsThe Bears started off with a bang, thanks to GM Ryan Poles' fruitful trade down from No. 1 to No. 9 overall in the draft that also landed them top wide receiver D.J. Moore for Justin Fields. Chicago has taken full advantage of its league-high salary cap space since.The Bears also were wise to upgrade the offensive line with former Titans guard Nate Davis and realize they didn't need to keep running back David Montgomery. They figure to land a top left tackle in the first round of the draft. Defensively, they added three impact playmakers for their front seven, including end DeMarcus Walker and linebackers T.J. Edwards and Tremaine Edmunds. Later in free agency, Andrew Billings was a good addition for that front, while former  Artem Anisimov Jersey Panthers running back D'Onta Foreman helps offset the lo s of Montgomery.  (Getty Images)  Losers: Miami DolphinsThe Dolphins have forfeited their first-round pick in the draft, so nailing free agency is crucial. Offensively, they simply brought back the duo of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. at running back and added a questionable contingency for Tua Tagovailoa in former Jets QB Mike White. Defensively, David Long is an OK addition for the linebacker corps, but their trade for Jalen Ramsey gets a one-time great corner ready for a fade. The Jets are about to displace them, either just ahead or just behind the Bills.NFL FREE AGENCY GRADES 2023: Losers: Buffalo BillsThe Bills retained safety Jordan Poyer but lost a big piece of their defense with Edmunds leaving for the Bears. They've made only one move for their offense, getting shaky former Cowboys guard Connor McGovern for the left side. Buffalo is feeling the effects of being strapped by contracts for Josh Allen, Von Miller, Tre Marian Hossa Jersey 'Davious White and other core veteran pieces. But like the Dolphins, their limited open-market splash opens the door for both the Jets and Patriots to keep moving up in the division.  (Getty Images)  Winners: Las Vegas RaidersThe Raiders' offense is better under Josh McDaniels with trusted scheme players and getting reasonable deals to be a new quarterback-wide receiver duo joining Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow. Derek Carr and Darren Waller had their heyday in a different time. Expect the Raiders to now go to work more on the offensive line in the draft.There was no similar marquee for the defensive moves, but the team did land three bargain starters in linebacker Robert Spillane, cornerback Brandon Facyson and safety Marcus Epps. After one year, this team is more taking on the image and philosophy of the former Patriots duo of McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler.MORE: Losers: Philadelphia EaglesThe Eagles were prepared to lose several veterans from their NFC championship team with a bank-breaking contract for Jalen Hurts looming. They drafted some future starters in Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean and Cam Jurgens last year. They still had to work hard to mitigate key lo ses.Defensively, Javon Hargrave (49ers) went to a key rival, offsetting Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox coming back for one more season. At linebacker, Edwards left for Chicago and Kyzir White Luc Snuggerud Jersey  joined former coordinator Jonathan Gannon, thrusting Dean into a huge second-year role.The Eagles kept James Bradberry and Darius Slay and are working on also keeping C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Offensively, they couldn't keep both Jason Kelce and Isaac Semaulo. Philadelphia is hoping to run it back in the conference, but it will be difficult with some key personnel lo ses while other contenders are bound to gain.  (Getty Images)  Winners: Atlanta FalconsThe Falcons stole new defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen away from the Dirty South rival Saints. Then they worked on stealing his key players. Former Saints David Onyemata and Kaden Elli s are fine gets for bolstering the front seven, but then the coup was signing superstar safety Je sie Bates III away from the Bengals.Offensively, the focus was keeping the right side of the line intact with guard Chris Lindstrom and tackle Kaleb McGary. Taylor Heinicke is a sneaky good QB contingency for Desmond Ridder, too. Jonnu Smith adds a way to take blocking pre sure off Kyle Pitts at tight end.Losers: New Orleans SaintsThe Saints didn't just Onyemata and Ellis. End Marcus Davenport (Vikings) and tackle Shy Tutlte (Panthers) also couldn't be re-signed fron the defense. That lost young depth and talent hurts Dennis Allen. Getting at QB and keeping Michael Thomas is fine for the offense, but this team is more stable than improved.MORE:  (Getty Images)  Winners: Cleveland BrownsThe Browns made only two moves, but they were literally gigantic, stealing beefy defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (Vikings) and versatile end Ogbonnia Okoronkwo (Texans) in some needed spending to help Myles Garrett big time up front for new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.  (Getty Images)  Winners: Detroit LionsThe Lions needed a more durable workhorse-type back behind their strong offensive line and David Montgomery, the former Bear, provides that. They also made calculated moves to improve their secondary beyond Jeff Okudah, adding key cover men Cameron Sutton (Steelers Pierre Pilote Jersey ) and Emmanuel Moseley (49ers).Losers: Tampa Bay BuccaneersWhen you lose the GOAT and don't have a Jordan Love fallback like the Packers, you'll be on this list. Who knows what they'll get with Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield competing in a new run-heavier offense?
