Those penalty kills preserved a 2-1 lead at the time and continued what had been a frustrating afternoon for Chicago's scoring attack. Anaheim actually ended up outshooting the Blackhawks in the third period despite being short twice.  Three things to know1. The Ducks played with fire early and didnt get burned. Frederik Andersen played a big role in that. The Blackhawks owned po se sion in this game, but the Ducks goaltender continually stood tall  Albert Johansson Jersey in the face of numerous scoring opportunities for Chicago. , Chicago controlled 61 percent of the even strength shot attempts in the first two periods. If not for Andersen, who faced 16 shots on net in the first period alone, it could have been a different story in Game 1. The Ducks really settled into their game later and played well with the lead, but it was Andersen's play early that made sure the game was always at the very least close. It paved the way for Anaheim's Game 1 win.2. The pace of this series is going to be insane. That's what is going to make Anaheims po se sion woes interesting. The Blackhawks have speed throughout their lineup, which forces opponents to play at Chicago's pace. Early in the game, it overwhelmed the Ducks, but over time they adjusted and made things a Thomas Vanek Kids Jersey  lot more difficult for Chicago. The Hawks shortened the bench while playing from behind in the third period adding even more strain to their top defenders. Rundblad was on the ice for each of the Ducks' first two goals and was a key contributor to why they were scored. Top defenseman played 28:25, which has been the norm for him, but it could become a lot more worrisome against a team as punishing as the Ducks.  Video of the game: The play of the game came when it was still scorele s. Patrick Kane in space would be a scary sight for any goalie, but Andersen made a desperate lunging stick save to thwart Kane with a wide-open net. Those are the kind of stops you need your goalie to make in the playoffs sometimes.
